During this program, Bumblebee staff will supervise preschool and elementary school students (Pre-K through 5th Grade) as they complete their e-learning tasks in a safe, socially distanced, and fun environment. Pre-K kids must be potty trained.
Students can take breaks from e-learning to engage with Bumblebee’s play activities (e.g. climbing wall, air hockey table, and more). Bumblebee staff will also lead children in group activities from time to time to provide breaks to the children throughout the day. Note that the large playground structures will be closed until the Restore Illinois rules allow them to reopen.
Parents must remain onsite throughout the duration of the program, and can use the session time to complete their work at an assigned desk.
Two (2), three hour sessions (8:00am – 11:00pm and 12:00pm – 3:00pm) will be available each weekday, Monday through Friday.
Children will be assigned a specific classroom so that the same group of children will be together each day.
Families may sign up for both the morning and afternoon sessions. Families who have signed up for both sessions may stay on site between 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, but children must remain with a parent in the Cafe during this time.
How many children and adults are allowed per session?
At this time, enrollment will be limited to 24 children per session. These children will be placed into one of four groups (no more than 6 children in any one group).
There will also be a maximum of 24 adults who may co-work in the Bumblebee space during each session. A maximum of one adult may sign up per enrolled child.
Can children be placed in the same group as a friend?
Yes! If you would like your child to sign up and be placed in the same group as another child, we can place them in the same group.
